Final bp temp. check

hey everyone i know i keep posting this question but i think ive got it right so thanks for replying. one more temp check! I switched to the heat pad and i have it on a T-stat it goes in between 91-94 on the hotspot. the ambient temps are between 75-80 at all times. soon ill get a CHE for the winter to boost ambient temps when it gets colder. I have a digital thermometer placed on the inside of the tank on the bottom glass. over it is aspen shavings then a hide (hot spot). i also have a hide on the other side. for if he gets too hot. the T-stat prob is on the heat pad. The cold side is about 85ish. Is this finally right?

there's too much variance in temps. With a thermostat you should be precise withing 1 degree not 3-5F.

pick a temp you want and keep it there with little to no fluctuations.

it cycles on and off goes down like 2 then back up is that a problem

all on/off thermostats have a 1oF Differential but that shouldn't cause temps to be that much in fluctuations.

All my thermostats are set at 89 and in the tubs i get 91 and it never falls below 91. Spikes in temps and drops as well can cause some minor problems. Feedings is the main problem ran into when temps are inconsistent.

I mean your temps are fine but dial them in more.

how? the T-stat prob is on the outside of the heat pad should i put it inside or in between the pad and the glass i think that will be the difference is that what your mean. i have the reptitemp 500r so i have a different temp prob then the thermostat one.

Room temps play a roll in dialing in temps. Thermostat you have is main reason with such variances. And never put the probe inside the tub. Always attach it directly on the heat tape so you know the hottest it can get. Then measure temps inside tub with a temp gun and adjust till your at the temp you want.

i dont have a temp gun i have the the digital thermometer probe directly over the UTH under all the bedding to measure the temp for the hot spot and the T-stat prob taped on the outside of the heat pad. i think i will save up for a thermostat that is better any suggestions and will it be okay until then with the minor fluctuation?

If you able to get your room temp to at least 78F your fluctuations will subside

he reptitemp 500r sucks so i just ordered a nice syderrobtics that will wrk like a billion times better so im going back to the basking light till then and then once it comes in the mail everything will be great with my temps and hot spot then i can get the ceramic heater for night! thanks everyonne
