    Double check on my temps
Got a new ball python about 2 weeks ago i love him to death and have been worrying about so many things that can go wrong with them when hes really doing great. So this is another thing i want to double check. my cool side is about 80 then on my warm side i have a basking light that is hooked up to a T-stat so it will go up to about 90 or 92 then turn off and go down to 88 turn back on and so on. i am measuring this temp with digital thremometer placed at the warm side which is right next to the T-stat probe. So the cycle is perfect so its around 90. The lights are on a timmer and go on at 9 am and off at 9 pm then the temps go down to about 75 at night in winter i will put in a infer red light for more heat at night in the winter i have aspen shavings and hides on both sides with fake plants my humidity is good i mist 2-3 times everyday, am i doin okay?????

Your doing ok, The goal I set for my self is an ambient temp of 80-82 (temp of the air the snake is breathing) and a hot spot of 90-94. I personally use a uth because its better for them to have belly heat when they are digesting and heat lamps pull all the humidity out of the air and you will have problems with shed cycles. Also you do not need to put lamps on a cycle BP's are nocturnal and dont benifit from day night cycles. Also you need to maintain your humidity at about 60% and bump up to 70% during shed

You need to check out the care sheet located in the BP husbandry forum it will help you out alot:gj:

i started with a UTH should i hook that up to the T-stat in stead of the basking light if i do where should i put the probes for the T-stat and digital thremometer

the probes for the t-stat go outside the tub. i tape mine underneath the UTH and some put it between the tub and UTH. the thermometer probe should go underneath ur substrate right on the tub underneath ur snakes hide.

and also, when using a uth that doesnt heat up the cool side to 80 or higher ill just put a red light on a low setting on the cool side to keep it around 80 during winter

The t-stat probe goes between the heating pad and the glass. The thermometer probe goes directly above the uth on the inside of the tank. I would use the uth instead of the light.
