funny story about animal control and the attack of the king snake

So every body that knows me in our little town knows me as the crazy pet shop snake guy..... Any way one of the girls that works with my sister in law goes home and finds this strange yellow snake in the living room..... calls 911 in a panic, animal control is dispatched.... I get 3 phone calls about it in the next five minuites, one from my brother in law that works on the fire dept, one from his dad a retired fireman that listens to the scanner constantly and the from my sister in law because after calling 911 she thinks to call and see if I can come help.....
Any way I have like 15 people in the store and am by myself so I tell them I will be there asap, get all the customers taken care of lock up and leave a be back soon note on the door (being described as a yellow and white snake I know its gonna be something cool) any way get to the house animal control is already there, a leather glove up to his elbow with a death grip on this poor little albino cal-king.... The animal control guy recognizes me and says "what do I have, I think its poisonous."
I explain to the guy its an albino cal king, and they are not venomous..... he then says he thinks it need to be humanly put down because it has a big cut on its belly.... he then shows me the cut, and I laugh (kinda pisses him off) I then tell him its the snakes cloaca.... then I said its butt-hole because he still had no clue (and that was the best way i could describe it), and then told him to quit squeezing it so hard, and it magically went away..... I then was asked if I would take it and rehome it, and the officer admited that no one at animal control knew how to care for it.....

Just thought I would share, was the highlight of my day.... instead of a weirdo in the eyes of the community I got to be a hero, and was well rewarded with laughter, an awesome story and a cool new snake:D

Hahaha!! Poor animal control guy. And poor little kingsnake. I'm so glad to hear he gets to go home with you, and I hope the squeezings weren't too bad for him.

Hilarious!! It just goes to show the sometimes funny ideas non-snake people can come up with. Glad you got there before someone really did destroy the little guy. :gj: :rolleyes:
