    ok so a lesser platinum can have an other genetic trait that adds the "platty daddy" or is the platinum that gene?

    That thread explains it. The heterozygous combination of the lesser (or butter) and hidden alleles makes what is called a platinum. The hidden allele is also refered to as "het platty" on occasion.
