    Humidity Concerns
I recently switched from the RBI cages to an RBI Rack - the problem I am having is the humidity level. With the hot weather we have been having - the humidity in my rack goes up to 75% on any given day. There is no moisture visible on the tub or the aspen but the accurrite is reading 70%/75% sometimes - do I need to be worried about this??

    Thanks for any help.

What's the humidity in the room?

    Accurites are FAR from accurate.
It's what you get for $12.
That 75% reading could be as low as 55% or as high as 90%.
If you're room is 60% and you have a bin with water dishes larger than a thimble (large enough to soak in) then the humidity will likely be much higher than the room.

But, do I need to be concerned about this. Can you reccommend a more accurate hygrometer to read the humidity??

I don't want my snake to get sick from the humidity.

No, you don't need to be concerned about this. So long as the bedding is dry, high humidity is fine for ball pythons. (In fact, in my experience, they thrive in it).

That's really not bad, I was thinking you had 80-85%. As long as the bedding is dry, I'd say you are ok. Thats the opposite of my problem...

Yes, the aspen is completely dry and there is no sign of any moisture on the sides of the tub.

Sure am glad to hear that it is okay - I didn't want to have to make additional holes in the tub because come winter I will have the opposite problem.

    Thanks guys for your help.
