whole clutch of single gene morphs?
am curious as to how often people have hatched a whole clutch of morphs from a single gene animal...
ie: pastel x normal - 6 eggs - 6 pastels
also, does anyone know the odds of this happening in (say) a 4/5/6 egg clutch?
thanks

8 out of 9, that's good going!
only had a 5 egg clutch - which has just produced 5 lessers
the lesser parent is a single gene animal, which is what prompted this thread

and as for the odds of doing that you know that it is a .5/.5 shot at getting lesser/normal.
You then take that and multiply it by it self according to the number of eggs so in your case it would look like this..
.5(.5)(.5)(.5)(.5) = 0.03125
I think this is correct, if it is not please someone correct me, and hope that helps.
Your math is correct. Everyone just needs to know that the decimal number at the end, .03125 in this case, is the decimal form of the percentage chance of the event happening. So, in this case, the .03125 answer that you got, translates into a 3.125% chance of the event happening.
So you had a 3.125% chance that your 5 eggs would produce 5 lessers.
Congratulations on your luck!! I wish that mine would have been that good for my het X het pied clutch earlier this year. 11 eggs, 1 pied.

My first clutch ever was 6 eggs from male yellow belly X normal
1.4 yellow belly
1.0 normal
Almost a grand slam, actually 4 female yellow belly's was a grand slam all it's own, lol
