    Does my BP need glasses?
I just had a quick question. I've had my BP (First snake) for over a year and I love him to death. Never tried to bite or strike at me never a picky eater (only missed a meal once in a year due to shedding). Anyways how I feed him is hold a F/T rat in his tank and he gets all active (He sleeps 23 1/2 hours a day I think) and he'll strike at the rat, but he usually misses like 2-3 times before he actually gets a successful solid hit and coils it. I'm sure there's nothing wrong but i didn't know if this was common or not? I do dangle it a little but he just seems to miss it be a lot lol.

Going to get a new king snake tomorrow, can't decide between a Black mexican, Albino spotted, or a high white....decisions!

    Thanks in advance :-)

sounds pretty normal to me, one of my bps miss lives all the time lol they could be rubbing thier nose on her and she misses, on the other hand i have a 3ft BCI that will hit live or frozen everytime...

so ya sounds pretty normal lol...

and on the other hand i tried kings/milks didnt interest me much i dont like long slender body snakes, room mate has two corns, a normal (3 ft) and a hatchling malaskty or whatever it is lol (that got lose today so we are trying to find him lol)

so ya i cant offer any help on the kingsnake issue lol.

I have a few that strike dead on, and a few that you start to wonder if they are "special" because of how long it takes them to get the mouse. One female gets so wound up that if she doesn't get a good hold on the f/t I have to be careful because then she'll decide my thigh looks just as good. She's an extremely aggressive feeder. I have another one that will try and try, and eventually I just have to lay the mouse by his head so he will eat it.

I feed live but i have heard if you warm up the ft a little it will help your snake strike it correctly. then again mine misses sometimes on live. whacked her face into the side of the take pretty good one time but she was ok.

    I'm with Maverick,

Heat up the head of the F/T more so the snakes heatpits can lock in on it better.
