Sounds like a Respiratory Infection - most commonly treated with increasing temps slightly in the tub or cage and decreasing humidity (nothing to drastic). Sometimes this can be bad and get worse, do you see any bubbling or snot like around the mouth?

You could increase the temp a bit, but first you need to know what the temps are. You dont wanna go pass 93 really. How are you reading the temps and what is it at the moment?

I agree with increasing the temps (around 90 ish for the whole tank) and check him again in a week. If he gets worse, then take him to a vet, but it sounds like its at the early stages so he should get better. Is this the one where you found the poor baby by the trash? If so, i'm not suprised if he has an RI being exposed to the elements for who knows how long.

Let us know how it goes. :)

there isnt anything really to be afraid of. if he bites, it doesnt hurt a lot.

lol i know its not the pain im afraid of, ive been bitten before by a bigger ball python at my school. its the 'not knowing when' everytime he moves his head i think hes going to bite me, tonight i let him crawl up my neck and sniff around my face or whatever it is they do. and he let me touch his upper neck which hes never done, really hes given me no reason to not trust him but i just panic lol snakes creep me out!!

Well, if you are still so afraid of him, you can try to find him a new home with someoene that will take care of him. I used to be the same way and even now, there are certain snakes that i won't handle (my big BCI's) and just my boyfriend does. If you decide to keep him, then next time you have him out, close your eyes and just feel his body language. He hasn't bitten you yet, even with you jumping and being afraid, the chances are that he isn't going to by you just handling him. ;)
