Growing fast or human error?
I've been weighing my 2010 male every now and then since I got him in June and he seems to be gaining weight very quickly. When I got him I was told that he was eating one hopper per week at the pet store, and I bumped him up to one hopper or one small adult mouse every five days because he's growing and needs the extra food.
We brought him home July 7th, and on July 19th we weighed him and he was about 60g.
Then on August 5th he weighed 100g
Then yesterday, August 27th he weighed about 140g.
Is it just me or is he growing fast? Or maybe my scale isn't accurate?
Re: Growing fast or human error?
I have an 8 week old yellow belly female that weighs 200 grams.
She started life at 69 grams and ate her first try and hasn't stopped.

Sounds normal to me.
My '10 male lesser came home July 26 at 67 grams. He now weighs in at 138. My '09 female CH normal came home at 266 grams on June 1 and weighs in at around 600 now.

What is your feeding schedule like to get May/June hatchlings to 300 grams already?

Hatchlings the day they hatch and take first meal are fed hoppers every 3 days. Once large enough, usually in 2 months to take rat pups they are moved to every 5 days. If everything is on par with their setups they will eat NON STOP and grow like a weed.

Basically the same feed schedule I do, works well I'd say.
