Re: A few little questions.
You can try setting the tubs either across the room or someplace where they are not in direct line with it. Also try adjusting the a/c thermostat so it keeps the room about 78-80. As long as it doesn't cool the room below 75F you should be ok.
Since you are using what sounds like a rheostat to run your heat pad, I would suggest getting a thermometer with a probe or a temp gun to measure your warm side temperature inside the enclosure, under the substrate, over the uth. I use the Acu-Rite Indoor/Outdoor thermometer. You place the unit on the cool side and run the probe over to the warm side and it will give you both temps, as well as humidity. You can usually find them at Home Depot or Lowes in the outdoors section or some Wal-Marts will have them in the Home Hardware section. They cost around $12-$15. Hope this helps...

When I set my tubs up I usually start with about 10-15 holes per side. Then if I need to add more to help with humidity, I will add a few more until I get it where I want it.
Also, I would suggest investing in a thermostat to control your Under Tank Heaters. You can find them online starting at about $30-$35 and they will keep your temps alot more stable so you won't have to keep messing with them...:gj:
