    Setting up my ball python bins.
    I just picked up two sterilite tubs for my two ball pythons. And i have a few quests. I got the "repti temp rheostat" it controls the temperatures of the head pads.. but i dont know what setting to put it on. high medium off or low.. :/ any tips ill post pictures in a sec

    Youll need someway of measuring your temps like a digital thermometer with a probe on it, like the accurite for example

    Rheostats work "ok" in a room that is temperature regulated.
    In rooms that go up and down in temperature you'll find that so does your tubs/tanks/enclosures.

    IMO they are a waste of $$

    You do also need a probed thermometer so you can read the temperatures correctly.

    I am far from an expert, but I just use a probed thermometer, and a lamp dimmer controlling my UTH pad. I just played with it until I got the temp right.

    A reptitemp rheostat would run you about $15. The reptitemp thermostat (500R) would run you about $25. For the extra 10 bucks you got a more stable temperature controller.

    The answer to your "hi, med, low" question is... find the setting that gives you 90-92 degrees Fahrenheit on your hot-side substrate.
