    Mice/rats
I have been reading on here that rats are better then mice as far as having more to them . I have found someone that can supply me with rats . he also had some mice left over and he gave me those as well . I have been giving him the mice first because that is what he was used to and I have also read how hard it is to get them to switch from mice to rats . So today I was just wanting to see if he would go for it and eat a rat sines I have 4 bags of them . I gave it to him and then my 2 yr old woke up so I did not get to watch him eat it ( it was f/t so i did not need to watch ) I was worried about him not getting the head down even though the body is same size as the small mice he was on the head is way bigger . So i came back and it was gone and there was a sizable lump ! So ok he will eat rats . Now i feel sure he will eat both but is it bad for them to switch back and forth ? I still have this bag of mice to go through. I am not worried about him not being able to switch back in forth just want to know if it will make him sick or whatever .

I my opinion it will not hurt at all to switch back and fourth if he will eat either one.

i don't see how it would hurt in any way. the snake will digest wutever is in the stomach lol.. the only thing i would worry about is if the snake decides it only wants mice... if it only wants rats then fine bc they are bigger and will sustain him for the rest of his life. feeding multiple mice is more of a hassle...

    Re: Mice/rats
I personally would not feed it mice. I have one mouse eater and it is a pain to have to buy frozen mice, thaw them seperately, feed multiple mice, etc. It is so much easier having all rat eaters. When my mouse eater is full or doesn't eat a mouse, I just throw it away. A part of me wants to give it to my "garbage disposal" eating girls, but I don't want them getting a taste for mice. If my 3500 girl decided she wanted mice only, I would have to feed her a minimum of 4 mice just to satisfy her........feed her a mouse......wait a few minutes for her to swallow it.......feed another mouse......wait......feed, etc. Just my opinion.
