    New Activity
Quick question. Loki has been WAY more active lately. He climbs on stuff attached to the inside of his cage and most often burrowing. He digs his head into the substrate and then tunnels around the back of his water bowl. Is this just interesting behavior or is he trying to tell me something?

When I see over-activity I think over heating first and check temps to make sure they are where they are supposed to be.

What are your temperatures in the enclosure?

It could be too hot or the hides are not good enough! The hides should be just big enough for the snake to coil in and just one small opening!

The temps are fine. warm side 87-91 cool side ~80. He loves both his hides and consistently uses both. Humidity hangs around 60-70. Three sides of his cage covered.

I feed weekly according to his widest point. He takes the rats down no problem. The cage is a 20L and he is still young, bought 7-8 months. Roughly 3' long. He has two hides. One fake rock hide and one that is an overturned and cut down flower pot. Both similar color, material, height, and area inside.

pics :gj: could be nothing. i know some reptiles will burrow for humidity, safety, and/or thermoregulation. if he stops eating, u should begin to worry... if he eats, he probably feels safe, and knows that he will be able to digest it since the temps are proper.. if u honestly believe something may be wrong, maybe pictures could help us spot something that you may be missing..
