    Steel shelving idea
Wondering if anyone has built a wooden cage using what is already there just building inside of it. Still tweaking with ideas but thought I'd post this up and ask. I know you can do racks out of it but wanting more along the lines of a wooden cage set up just using the steel sides to help hold everything together and steady.

I have not personally done that with them, but you could always try.

i think wooden cages are plenty strong enough, i would see the metal shelf as kinda pointless

The shelf would be more for a structure base, but make it lighter than a solid wood cage. At least that's what I'm hoping would work. Possibly using 1/4in for the sides and top instead of 1/2in or 1 inch plywood.

The only problem I see with this is if you choose to use flexwatt, its not insulated enough to be against metal so you would need to put somthing inbetween any areas it may come into contact with the metal frame.

Actually the bottom of these are made out of wood so the only metal on them is the frame itself. I think we're going to build 2 cages from wood to put up underneath another cage but just still working out dimensions on them.

Still figuring out if flex watt or different heat source is going to be needed for those but that's a different post.
