    Used UTH???
I want to know if it's safe to reuse a uth removed fron an old glass tank? I have two balls :colbert: so I'm relatively new at this. Im a little paranoid about their temps. and even when the temps are fine I'm always looking at the thermometers because I dont want to hurt them, I know it sounds a little extreme but thats the way I am :rolleye2: so I'll appreciate your replies.

I did. But mine was only on it for less than a two weeks and I was repositioning it....But it had it heated up to soften the glue, and I slowly and carefully worked it for not to bend it and mess it up. Then restuck it, let it cool fully and stick good before I turned it back on and its been fine so far. Hope that helped lol...

Yup. The UTH I use for my corn is used. It doesn't have any glue on it, so I had to duct tape it to the tank.

Yes, you can even reuse them even if they don't have any of the glue left, just duct tape them on. As long as they are not cracked or bent to the point they won't lay flat, they usually work just fine.

Yep, you shouldn't have a problem using it. I've unstuck mine and restuck mine a few times and they all work fine.

I went from a glass aquarium to a tub with one of mine and have had no problems at all. I would recommend using foil tape that you can pick up at Lowe's over duct tape though, it will hold longer and better

You have to be very careful peeling it off of the old tank, The main problem that you can have is if you bent it backwards or stretched it out while removing it, you could have cracked the heating element inside the plastic which can cause a short and could potentially be dangerous.

Yeah, I was always told not to reuse UTH's because you can damage them when you un-stick them. Personally, I'd rather not risk causing a fire or short, and just pay the extra money for a new one.
