    Bulging eyes on a hatchling?
Had a hatchling stick his head out of the egg and his eyes were blue and bulging. Turned out the umbilicus was knotted around the lower portion of his body, although I don't know if that had anything to do with the eyes. Has anyone ever had the bulging eyes deal right out of the egg and did the snake survive it or is this something that I should just put him out of any misery he might be in?

What kind of BP is it? Because I've heard that BEL'S have bulging eyes (bug eyed) like that. And you had said his eyes where blue.

He died during the night. By blue eyes I meant blue like when they go into shed. I'm thinking he was under developed due to the umbilicus knot and may have had some sort of systemic infection.

tied umbilical cord might have strangled the snake.

sorry to hear that, hope all of the rest of the clutch hatch with no problems.
