    Cooling a Incubator
I have an old Sobe full size fridge that we have been using as an incubator for years without any problems. We just moved and it is so big that it needs to be kept in the garage, which is getting very hot. It has been overheating the incubator. We have been putting frozen bottles of water under the top fan about 3 times a day, and it has been working ok. But I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a permanent solution. We are using 11" heat tape hooked up to a Herpstat set at 88 deg, and two fans for circulation. without the ice bottles it was easily getting up to 94 deg during the day.

    Thanks

Try turning off the fans and you will reduce the heat that they emit. I did that in my fridge size incubator and work for me. No fans and the temps are 87 at the bottom and 88.5 at the top. 14 clutches and counting with out a problem. :rolleye2:
