Nesting behavior?

I paired my red bi-color male and my lovely dark red and tan flame female on 6/1 i have her expected lay date for her first clutch as the 25th of this month (so 5 days or so). I have a little nest box in there for her, and every morning for the past two days she's left me little mounds of possibility (so she's been in it, digging around). No eggs so far, but i was wondering if this is just her having fun with the new substrate in her nest box or actual pre-lay behavior.

Any incite into the crazy gecko mind?

Females usually start to lay anywhere between 30-60 days of being paired, so she could be ready to lay soon. Many females will dig for a few days prior to laying. That said, some females and also males will dig in a lay box if they need a little extra humidity, because they saw another gecko doing it and they are a copycat/are curious (hey, whatcha doing in there?) or sometimes seemingly just for fun.

I think her humidity is fine (she just had a great shed, and finally got some stuck shed off her little claws. Shes fine with handling but not very good with getting her toes messed with). She's been separated from the male for a little while. He was starting to pester her (She was barking at him) so he went back to his bachelor pad. I'll be on the lookout for some eggs then.
