Although there's no guarantee that you'll get pastels....OR normals. The thing to remember is that you have a CHANCE to hatch out pastels. You could have a clutch that is 50/50...or 100/0 or 0/100...or anything in between.

I'm sorry I can't reply with a confident answer, but here are two sites on ball Python genetics that I've been studying, as well as an explanation on what I've learned:

    Markus Jayne Ball Python Genetics

    Ball Boutique Inc. Genetics 101

In the Markus Jayne Genetics 101 section, it states:
    Quote:

In a codominant or incompletely dominant mutation (there is a technical difference and debate continues on which is correct for certain ball python morphs) the one mutant copy in a heterozygous animal produces a visible mutant phenotype but the homozygous mutant version is a different (usually more extreme) phenotype. A heterozygous for pastel genotype ball python has the pastel mutant phenotype but a homozygous for pastel genotype ball has the super pastel phenotype.
So a Pastel would be under the Codominant section in the first link which shows that breeding a Heterozygous ball to a normal results in a 50/50 for Paste/Normal.

Sorry if I am way off in my findings, I am very new to this. But I figured the resources would help.

You then get super pastels, pastels, and normals. If you breed 2 super pastels, you should get all pastels from what ive read. I havnt had my snakes long enough to breed to find any of this out yet.

Using the same Codominant section, you can see you will have a chance for the following: 50% Pastel
    25% Super pastel
    25% normal

1 super pastel to a normal will get you ALL pastel babies...no percentages involved.

Super to super will get you ALL supers.

Super to regular pastel will get a chance at both pastels and supers, but no normals.
