Vision vs. Reptile Basics
So i currently am using RBI racks for my snakes. At times i feel like they are too expensive for the number i get, but i have had no problems with the racks and customer service is great. Recently i have been looking at Vision racks since it looks like you get a few more racks with their systems over what RBI's would do at the same cost. So someone sway my mind!!!!
Re: Vision vs. Reptile Basics
IMO, dont, you will not like them after having RBI racks. They are far to open for me, the one I had, I had trouble with heating and humidity/sheds. Ive never had trouble with sheds with RBI though, because of how enclosed they are.
Im not sure, but I also think Vision racks are more so for people with temp controlled rooms, or keeping them in a room that says warmer than normal. They are so open, that I also had trouble keeping my room at a temp that did not make it impossible for the heating to work good with the racks.
Re: Vision vs. Reptile Basics
I have several different kinds of racks, Freedom Breeder, Animal Plastics(similar to RBI), Vision and homemade. What Vision has over all of these racks is versatility. You can have one rack with adult CB70 tubs on a few levels, then sub adult V35 tubs on a few levels and hatchling tubs on a few levels or any combination depending on how your collection changes. It is very easy to change the heat configuration with their heat rope system and also the spacers for different size tubs. I even set mine up one season to have my freedom breeder CB70-8 tubs on my Vision rack, they are the taller white tubs with acrylic window.
Versatility and price were big factors for me. Also they are on wheels which makes moving the rack easy.
I have no problems with my other racks but they cant change as I do.

Hey Matt I taped up 80% of the holes(from the outside) on the tops to cure my humidity problems. I leave a few open in the front at the cool end of enclosure. People in humid areas or with colubrids would probably leave them open but it just took 5 minutes to run some 2" tape over them.
They seem to keep heat just like my other racks?
Re: Vision vs. Reptile Basics
Thansk guys. My room is heat controlled by a space heater and I'm in the proccess of drywall and finishing the room off. My biggest issue with RBI is that i have to put them up off the ground compared to vision it seems to me that they have wheels and are a little off the ground. Does the heat coils go out any quicker than heat tape??
