    Selective breeding with axanthics
When working with Aaxanthics is it best to use grey or low yellow normals and spiders? What about lighter yellow pastels? Does it make a difference at all? Thanks in advance for the advice.

imo it dosent. its all about what you feel looks good. if you have a thing for reduced patters or really busy patterns try to find axanthic or hets to bread it out.

I don't think the non-axanthics would matter as much as keeping the best looking axanthics and selectivly breeding them. but i would imagine, low yellow animals would be the way to go.

Thanks. So starting with the best looking Axanthic is most important, but using low yellow animals to breed it to can only help?

You want high yellows. The axanthic gene removes the yellow, leaving that silvery black look. That's why pastel axanthics hold their lack of color so well.

Not that i've seen alot, but i've never seen a pastel axanthic not brown out into adulthood.
