    Gravid female..active!
I have a gravid female, tonight she is being very active, exploring, trying to get out of her tub etc, let her out & she doesnt want to go back lol!, up until now she has been miserable looking, flipping on her back laying inverted most of the time..is this normal behaviour..she is due if all goes to plan around the 27th but have read that some take longer..

I have some females that go through this behavior(not all). I believe it has to do with nesting and the need to seek out a safe and secure spot to lay the eggs. Just leave her be, she knows what to do.

Thanks guys, this is my first season & am pretty confused as to whats meant to be happening, is she gravid, isn't she, allthough very obvious she is..will wait & see, seemed odd that she is suddenly active after months of inactivity

Yeah, Mona (who laid on 6/22) was quite restless for the last 2 weeks or so... laying inverted, circling, moving her newspaper around, etc. I guess they go through a "nesting period" just like human women! I knew laying was imminent, though, when her behavior suddenly changed - she went from sweet Mona to a hissing jerk, and laid her eggs that night. So based on that, I'd say major crankiness is a good sign they're ready to blow. :gj:
