Commercial Incubators

Do any of you have experience with any of the following incubators? I'm aware I can build my own incubator but if I were to buy a commercial one, which one would be best out of the following...

I have the hovabator and I'm a first time breeder. I actually had my female sit on her eggs for awhile. Than when it was time for cutting, I wanted the incubator for proper heat. I went with the hovabator. But heres a tip. Don't go to big apple herp for it, it was expensive for shipping and it didn't include the vermiculte or the deli cups. for the total of $60.30 (the cents could be wrong but it was $60-I also think the price went a little up since I ordered mine last month) you can get the same incubator and the starter kit for a better price. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/...and-deli-cups/

I wasn't too estatic about the hatchright, but it did do its job. :-)

The hovabator is a little tempermental, but I think that has to do with me being a first timer. Make sure you get an external thermostate a little zoomed one will do. If you have any questions I can answer them.

Before I would front the money for one of those I would sit back and think out my goals. Each of those incubators are only going to hold two clutches at most. If that is all the more you think you will have over the next couple of years then it works out well, but if your going to expand to having more clutches you might want to think about something bigger now. That way you can get used to how to set it up with your first couple of clutches. You don't want to find yourself having to experiment with an incubator when you are trying to hatch that 3 or more gene morph out for the first time.

I bought the Reptipro 5000 (Which is the same thing as the Accu Temp 6000)http://www.reptipro.com/supplies/inc...incubator.html
And I was not happy at all with it. There was not enough air circulation inside. Even with such a small space there was still 2-4 degree tempature differances from the top and bottom. The unit is smaller than it looks and will not hold a normal shoe box sized plastic box. I was not happy having a incubator where I was hoping for small clutch sizes. I ended up selling it to a buddy that breeds corns and made my own incubator from an old Red Bull fridge. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ull-Incubator! I highly reccomend converting a fridge/cooling for your incubator.

The thing is, I'm the least crafty person you'll ever meet :rofl: So I'm not sure if constructing my own incubator would be a good idea...Although I do know a guy that might be able to help me so I guess. I'll be on the lookout for an old fridge :D

to actually get it up to temp i had to put an undertank heater under it it reads 5-7 degrees hotter than it is just little things to keep an eye in and keeping the humodity up other than that it works good just no sounding alarm if it's too cold/hot
