Flexwatt heat tape on an ACRYLIC tank?
    Hello,

I'm building an all acrylic tank, made from 6mm acrylic sheets. It's going to have 2 dividers in it, so I'm not worried about warping. I am going to be using 11" flexwatt on this tank though.... will it melt the acrylic? I am aware that the burning point of acrylic is very high, much higher then the flexwatt heat tape will get - however... I'm still weary. Has anyone ever done it before?

You might want to jack the acrylic enclosure up a touch to let the flexwatt breath but otherwise I think you'd be just fine with it hooked up to a t-stat.

Flexwatt under tubs works great I see no reason why it would be any different with an acrylic set up?

Never use Flexwatt without a thermostat. If you have a thermostat, you could use it on cheese, and it would be fine. ;)
