Been out of the loop for a decade, back in again!
Hi, My name is April. 31 years old, happily married with two sons.
I used to have numerous snakes a little over a decade ago. But then I got divorced and my exhusband kept the snakes. We had some big boas over 10 feet long, some poisonous, and all different kinds. I forget what all we had. Lots of other reptiles too.
Well my new husband didn't like snakes so I have been snake-less for a decade now. This week I finally talked my wonderful husband into letting me get a ball python. I thought a ball python would be a good snake to add to family with a husband that doesn't like "creepy crawly" things. I remembered my ball python from before was sweet and docile. I picked up my new girl yesterday from a nice home breeder. She is 2 years old and is just lovely. I am thrilled with her. I am letting her rest in her new home and get comfortable before I start playing with her. I have to say I am a bit nervous with her. I am not afraid of the pain of being bitten, it is the pain of my hurt feelings that I am afraid of. She seems to be very sweet though and hasn't hissed or acted aggressive at all. So I am hoping that all goes well. My husband just asks that I not to put the snake on my neck when he isn't home LOL.
Nice to be here and I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hi! You found me, that was quick. I was about to email you to ask what your user name is.
I found a terra cotta pot, now how do I make it into a hidey hole? Upside down with a hole in it? Or lay it on its side?
Aura is upstairs in my craft room. No kids are allowed in there so it is peaceful and quiet. I keep going in there to look at her and talk to her. Hoping she will get used to me and to her new home. :snake:

Nice to see another reptile lover coming back after a decade! I too had a small collection (Boa, Burmese and ball) over a decade ago. I joined the military and wasn't able to have pets because I was gone all the time. But I've gotten out of the military, finished college and just picked up a baby Ball too!
