i might be having a major heat problem URGENT
i just checked on my BPs when i went to feed them and the thermostat said 88 but the temp gages that i have(the probe is right on the glass above the heat pad) read 125ish. I moved the probe for the thermostat and it started reading 14 and 15. I reset the temp to 85 to see if it would go down. Its still saying 14. Is it possible that it cant show me 114 so it just says 14?

if thats the case what can i do to get the heat right?

    thanks

what kind of heat source are you using? do you have a thermostat or a rheostat?

What kind of thermostat are you using? If you are using a proportional thermostat like Herpstat or Helix, that 14 and 15 maybe the power percentage that it is running at to maintain the 88 deg setting...

Then you have a Herpstat. You will either have a Herpstat basic (1 probe), Herpstat ND 91 probe), Herpstat II (2 probes) or Herpstat Pro (4 probes). I use a Herpstat Pro and, as far as I know, the Pro and the ND are the only models that display the power percentage that the thermostats are running at. The Herpstat Basic and Herpstat II use colored lights to indicate the power level. You can go to Spyder Robotics webpage and look at the online manual for your particular model if need be, or contact Dion directly and see if he can help. He is usually pretty good about returning correspondence in a timely manner. Hope this helps...

I also agree with changing the batteries in the thermometer and seeing if you get better readings...
