    Help with humidity
Over the last week I have moved my snakes out of my extra walk in closet into my garage. I asked my girlfriend, well now fiance, to marry me and in the process she is now moved/moving in with me and although she loves herps and has a small crestie colony, she needs the closet more than my retics do lol. (this debate almost turned into a huge fight lol)

anyways my humidity went from the normal 45-60% down to 25-30% AT BEST. i keep all the snakes im having problems with in tubs and things its time to try changing the substrate to help hold/raise humidity. My big girls in melamine cages are just fine, but those are for a different story.

a good friend of mine and neighbor keeps his collection on wood chips from home depot that he bakes and disinfects and has perfect humidity in his garage too. Is this okay? ive always kept everything on newspaper/papertowel and am kinda at a loss for this.

someone wanna chime in and help me?

I'm sure others can give you some advice on a new substrate, but I just wanted to chime in and say that you can put a small, damp sea sponge in each tank and it will help raise the humidity. I do this when mine are sheding and it jumps it up from about 60-70% to coer 80%! Just a thought, though you will need to re-dampen them once in a while...

Or you could try to get a humid hide or something along the lines of one in there while you look for a fix, that way they can go in to get their dose of humidity...
