they can even be pickie as hatchlings
well I gonig on the 3rd week with my pastel/normal clutch. I been offering them asf pups/crawlers all week. and noone bother to look or eat. I happe nto toss my only small mouse in and I had an instance food fight the mouse was a runt of a littler and was still smaller than the rest ( most my other mice are too larger for hatchlings). PLusI got a pastel and a rescue( the dinker for next season) that seen to prefer mice over everything i offered so far ( need to start a rat colony to see if rat pups are prefered.)

any how I now need ot go out and get about a dozen mice crawlers tomrrow .( guess faze the asf groups out and go back to mice and rat pups. ( unless some one local wants a breeder colony lol..) I like the asf for the lack of smell compared to the mice and rats. but I guess need to keep what they prefer food wise on hand. My luck will then be get asnake in that only likes asf lol.

I find hatchlings like something with fur. Pinkie are usually not taken. I would feed fuzzy mice or fuzzy rat to the hatchlings. They still may take asf after you get them started! Good luck!

Movement is key with hatchlings. Rat pinks don't do a whole lot of moving I've seen baby snakes curl up with rat pup's on the warm side and go to sleep.. ASF or mice do enough moving to stimulate the feeding response..
