    Assist feeding forever?
K so i assist fed my snake last night there is something wrong with his lower jaw. This is the first time he has ate since i got him. I have had him for a month. He took it really good once i got it in his mouth. So will i have to do this to him every time i feed him. He had killed 3 mice but not ate them and i just read last week about someone waiting too long to step in and help the snake eat. He should be eating hoppers but i gave him a fuzzy. How long should i wait to try and feed him again and can i assist feed him bigger mice?

What is wrong with his lower jaw? Sometimes a snake's jaw might appear crooked until they adjust it to its correct position. You shouldn't have to assist feed more than once or twice before they learn what they're supposed to do.

If you've seen him open his mouth to yawn or adjust his jaw, he should be able to eat on his own.

He has some kind of tramma to his head. I dont plan on feeding him this way forever i hope he can eat himself i just didnt want to wait to long and have him get to weak. I will still offer him live and let him kill it to see if he will eat it. I have not seem him open his mouth:(
