Re: Possibe stupid question.
I kind of doubt there's anything really harmful, but that's up to you. You could always hold him with the other hand.
Re: Possibe stupid question.
I had a small cast on my hand for 3 weeks I held my ball pythons and they are all ok.
Re: Possibe stupid question.
most bacteria is species specific (some are'nt ie: salmanella, e.coli wich are transmited through fecal matter) I wouldnt worry to much about it.
Re: Possibe stupid question.
Now my other question is, wouldnt the smell kinda scare him away? I mean its pretty bad.

This cast has to be harboring bacteria and the last thing I want is my bp getting sick or infections.
That's a good question. I also wouldn't THINK it'd do any harm, but I know those things can get pretty nasty since my brother had two just recently. I doubt even you would catch anything from it though so not sure your ball would either.
Just to be on the safe side if you're worried also maybe put something over it if you really wanna hold him? Or yeah, use your other hand more so.
Re: Possibe stupid question.
Smell might make him think 'eeeeew' but not sure it'd scare him, lol
Re: Possibe stupid question.
now do you guys ever hold yours during the day or do you wait till night time when there active? Cause hes always sleeping whenever I lift up his hide, and I dont want to wake him up. Its been about a week since I got him and he ate two days ago.
Re: Possibe stupid question.
It's up to you if you hold him day or night. He could be more active at night but not neccesarily. It's fine either way so when ever you want to hold him. ANd don't worry about the cast.
