    J.W. Exotics Season update
Hey everyone, it's been a busy season here with the snakes and with everything else going on. I have 5 clutches on the ground so far, with a few more late clutches expected to drop in the next month.

I had a clutch of 6 het albinos hatch on 7/7

I struck out completely with a clutch of 5 from my female yellow belly who was bred to my male yellow belly and my male bee. One egg was bad, and out of the four good eggs, I hatched four yellow bellies. I was really hoping for an ivory or a pastel yellow belly to hold back, but no luck.

Clutch three is hatching right now; 8 big eggs from my bee bred to a large dinker normal female. The babies are interesting looking, so I wanted to share a few pics. The mom has one of the busiest patterns I've ever seen, so I wasn't expecting the babies to have such reduced patterns. And their heads don't look like your typical pastel and bumble bee heads. I can't wait to see what these look like after their first shed, but I'm excited about this one for sure.

Clutch four is a who's your daddy clutch from my VPI pastel female, which is due to hatch the first week of September, and clutch five is from my female BHB cinnamon girl, who was bred to my black pastel and my bee. That clutch was just dropped on 8/4, so look for updates on here and on my website soon.

Hey Pat. I'm still alive, but not kicking too hard lately. I'm hoping to start posting on here again now that things seem to be slowing down a little for me.

Thanks! I'll be sure to post an update on this one after they all shed.

Hey Mitch, I haven't brewed anything since I finished off the Czech Pilsner and the Irish red, but I sanitized a couple of fermenters and washed my Cornelius kegs so I can at least brew a 2nd version of the Pilsner. I plan to improve on that recipe until I have the perfect lager, but the red was so good I can't not make another batch of that, too, with a couple of tweaks from my original recipe.

Than! I was less than stoked when I saw that there was only one bee in this clutch, especially after striking out on the ivory clutch. But I definitely couldn't be happier with the quality of the babies that are hatching here. Being very selective in choosing breeding stock and which animals to pair up really pays off. I've seen killer bees that weren't as nice as the bee in this clutch.

Pretty cool Jake, if you have a male in that clutch you'll have to breed him back to momma and see if you produce a super.

Great looking clutch - love the "blotchy" patterns! :)

For the record, I bought my spider male (Vinnie) from JW last year, and he's a wonderful snake... big/healthy, handsome, and quite friendly to boot! :gj:
