    how to set up a tub enclosure
    so i went to walmart today and got a really good deal thanks to there price settings so i got 4 41 qts for 2.25 a piece and i want to make one a bigger home for my adult normal and wanted to know how to go about heating it and all that good jazz any help ?

    I use the 4" flexwatt. But I do have it running the length of the tub so if you do only one side you may want to go bigger

    here iss the real question then run the heat on one side or the length of the tub witch is better lol ?:D

    your snake still needs to be able to thermoregulate, so i would recommend running the heat tape on the warm side of the tub as opposed to the entire length.

    Neither is "better" necessarily. I have used both methods successfully.

    im just wondering on this because i am going to build a rack soon and i have only heard of using belly or back heat on the warm side. wouldnt it effect the gradient?

    I'm not sure I get what you mean.

    In a rack setup, people either use 3-4" belly heat down the back of each shelf, or back heat down the whole back of the rack using 11" heat tape.

    I use the 41 qt tubs and have an 11"x12" piece of flexwatt on the rear of the shelf (providing belly heat). It is then all controlled by a Ranco thermostat.

    when i read i came to the conclusion they wanted to run the heat tape down the entire length of the tub, from the warm end to the cooler end.
