Do most add water throughout the incubation process?

I was just thinking about it. I know what you need for the initial substrate to incubate with the proper moisture, but does it dry out over your two months of incubating or...? Obviously it will all depend on how well it is insulated or sealed but generally speaking what do most of you end up doing? Do you remove the eggs first, add water and mix or just spray a little?

You can add water if needed, Add to the substrate and be careful not to get it on the eggs.

if the eggs are telling me it's getting a bit dry in there (collapsing early), i'll add warm water near the eggs (not on them)...

With substrateless incubation I never had to add water during incubation, I put my eggs in the box and than try to forget about them for 52 days :rolleyes: (Well I do check every now and than ;))

As Deborah said, there is no reason to. Get a box that is totally sealed and come back in around 52 days or so depending on incubation temp. If the box is air tight there is no where for the moisture to escape so there is no need to add more.

I use glad press n seal and I air them thru incubation. the last 2 weeks when the eggs use the most oxygen, I peel back a corner slightly to let air in constantly. when the first one pip. I replace the press n seal with the lid that has a few very small holes in.
