Time to hacth completely

Hello,

First of all, I want to thanks all the advices found on that forum, I got eggs 2 months ago, and I think everything went well, as they are starting to hatch. Also, I have 2 questions regarding the hatching process:

1. Approximately how long time does it take for a baby BP to hatch completely? I explain myself: my eggs just piped out yesterday, and the little BPs still got just their nose out, but nothing more.

2. Do they need to stay in the incubator, or can I move the eggs in the new tub? It’s starting to smell quite bad in it.

From my experience,it should take anywhere from a couple days to a week for them to come out of their egg.They need to absorb the remainder of the yolk.I leave them i the incubator until they are out of the egg,then transfer them to a rack on damp paper towel.Hope that helps and congrats!

if they have piped then u can put them on moist paper towels in a tub and KEEP THEM IN THE INCUBATOR they will be out in a few days it varies on how long they take they will come out when they are ready

Just making sure I read you correct. Once they piped you can remove them (while they are still in the egg) from the egg box with your substrate to a different box with moist paper towel. Is that right?

Yes. some breeders go ahead & cut all the eggs once they notice pips, then the eggs are moved to a container lined in moist paper towels and placed back into the incubator until all babies emerge from their eggs.

When that is done replace moist paper towels and keep them all together in the same tub in a hatchling rack until they shed. After shed give them their own hatchling tub.

It is EXTREMELY important that they stay in the incubator until they are completely out of the egg!

They cannot handle the cooler temps yet.

Once the yolk is gone, you can move them into a tub on heat.

once pip, they can come out 1 to 3 days, it's recommended to leave in incubator, but I have taken ones out of the incubator before they was out of the eggs with no problems. some breeders leave them in the incubator after they left the egg, they use a slightly wet paper towel until they shed.

2 out of 3 are out. The last one (who also was the last to pip) is now on damp paper towel. Much more cleaner than the vermiculite. When I opened the incubator this morning, I had 2 little golden vermiculte covered balls. lol.
