    Breed Checking?
On another forum, a discussion came up on breed checking dogs. This evolved into a conversation on reptiles, and I commented that I had never heard of anyone getting their reptiles checked over by a vet prior to breeding.

Out of curiosity, does anyone do that?

In order to do that type of examination, you would have to have some idea of what it was you were checking FOR....

Generally, with mammals such as dogs/horses, it's to check and make sure that they're healthy enough to be bred. What the person posted was "I know 4 breeders that are large scale, quality breeders and know they have their stock checked once a year".

    Re: Breed Checking?
I ask the person who the 4 breeders are and she said "2 are private individuals with buildings dedicated and then Boa and Balls and ProExotics". I haven't heard of the first, but the second sounds familiar. Probably because they sell reptile products.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if these two have their stock checked prior to breeding each year?
