Questions about RI

I've been worried about RI's with my snakes. In reading about them, some suggest to increase the temp and lower humidity. They have stated that a Baytril or similar treatment, rarely has worked. Rather, what worked was to increase the temps and let the BP get heal themselves.

What are your opinions?

without antibiotics a RI will only get worse, and lead to the death of your animal

people normally tell someone to adjust temps after they have stated that the temps are either below or above the recommended levels. this of course is not the cure, this is just the first step. you want to perfect the enclosure while the snake is on treatment. as long as you have near perfect temps and humidity, you shouldn't need to worry about RI. tubs are AWESOME for maintaining humidity and keeping the proper temps.
if your snake has an RI or is showing signs of an RI, you should always take it to the vet for proper treatment - AND take a second look at your husbandry.

Wihtout a CULTURE your ball pythons RI will get worse and it will die.
I hear about it all the time, some stuupid vet looking at a snake, determining it is an RI and immediately prescribing Baytril. If that ball python has a bacteria that is resistant to Baytril (as most are these days, because too many stupid vets blanket treat all snakes with it) that ball python will die because it went untreated.
