Pinktoe (A. acivularia) & Mexican Red Knee (B. smithi) with a molt!
Here's some photos I took today of them. The Red Knee was molting right when I woke up so I got to sit and watch it happen. Really cool to see.

I also got a pic of the molt so if anyone can determine the sex that would be fantastic. Also got a-crappy-pic of the Avic's abdomen, but hopefully you can make something out of it enough to be able to tell male or female.

Other than that, I had so much fun photographing T's! Enjoy these pics:D:gj:

Both tarantula's are hotties!!! My B. smithi and A. avic are still tiny little things. Neither of mine have any adult color yet - lol. You can not tell by the pic if the molt of the red knee is male or female. If you wanted you could always send me the molt in the mail and I could look at it under a microscope. And the avic pic is unfortunately not that great but from what I can see it is looking male to me. But avic's are a bit harder to sex and it could be shadows from bad lighting or whatever that is making it look male.

Thank you!! I think the Avic pics turned out the best, now I love taking pics of T's LOL.

I'll try to get a better pic of the Avic today in the light. Hopefully I get a much better pic than last night's photo. I've got someone who can look at the molt for me, but if I can't reach him in the next couple days and get him over here I'll for sure send you the molt:gj:. Since it's so small, would I be able to just put it in an envelope? It pretty much weighs nothing LOL. Kind of a waste for a box, right?:P

Looks male, remember that after a molt T's are extremely vulnerable, and can be injured, or die from the slightest bumps. Thats why it is best to wait until there exoskeleton is hardened and their fangs are black before handling.

Thanks for the input, and yeah I'm aware of that, I would HATE to have my Red Knee die. I love that thing so much, definitely my favorite species. This Red Knee was probably my most favorite gift from someone that I've gotten too:D.

I would put it in the smallest manilla envelope that has the bible wrap stuff inside it. Sorry if I spelled manilla wrong. Should be very cheap to send it. If you have a frwind who can come over and do it that is even cheaper and eaiser though - lol. But the offer is there for you to send it to me if you want :gj:

The A. avicularia is looking male, but it's very hard to see. I'm also taking a huge guess here, but that B. smithi looks female. Very nice looking pair you have though. Get anymore yet?

Send that molt to Jeff though, he'll be able to tell you. :)

Bible wrap? I'll have to look that up. And I think it'll be worth spending just a little more money to have you tell if it's male or female, no biggy:). I'll try to go today to get a smaller manilla envelope, I have one already but it's kind of large so I'll try to get the smaller one.

Yeah I'm sort of leaning more towards male on the Avic, he's got a real dark patch of hair.

And thanks! I'll definitely be getting more at the Tucson show which is September 26-27 I think, or the 25-26, can't remember. I'll be getting a few more T's though. The main two on my list are Brazilian Black and Chaco Golden Knee, but if I find any of the others I wanted I'll look into getting those too:gj:.
