    Tank Size
I'm probably going to purchase a bearded dragon next month and I'm currently getting things together for him/her. When I first get it, I plan on using a 20 Gallon long tank. My question is, when it becomes an adult, what would be the best size tank? I can get a 55 gallon tank for 30$, but i was thinking if 12-13 inches wide is to small. I figure it's long enough, but is it wide enough? The measurement would be 48 1/4 x 12 3/4 x 21.

A 55 gallon is good for a single full grown bearded dragon.

This is a good caresheet and definitely reference the nutrition page when getting greens for your dragon.

Also, they like to climb so get some sturdy branches or tree bits.

I personally dont like anything smaller than a 40gl breeder for adults 55gl are to narrow and more hight than anything. 40gl give you more floor space as they like to run around. Almost all my adults are in 4x2x2 enclosures that I build as 40gl are minimun sizes(which I use for quaratine cages) the more space the better... :D

So do you think a 30 Gallon Breeder is too short?

Did you mean a 40 gallon breeder? It's tall enough for some climb space [they don't need to climb very high] but there's good amounts of floor space for running.

For a full grown bearded dragon I would get at the least a 40 gallon breeder. It's what we have for our 1 year old and it seems she might out grow it if she continues to grow a full inch every week and a half [yay giant german line!]. You need floor space for them to run but they also like to climb. Ours likes to sit on top of her branches and then climb another branch to the top of her tree house. But then she likes to run back and forth at the very front and then "stalk/hunt" us by pacing back and forth the short side closest to where we sit.

It would be ok for a juvi but for a full grown adult I would have to say yes. Even the adults I have in 40gl breeders are cramped. I just built more 4x2x2 enclosures which Im just waitting for the stain to air out so I can move them into the bigger enclosures..
