    Very light colored BP
I was just at a pet store not too far from home and decided to look in on 2 almost adult size BP's they had about 3 weeks ago. When I saw them they looked pretty washed, but when I got there today they had just shed. They are housed together at the store so I could see the contrast of the "norm" compared to the other one. No special pattern, just a MUCH lighter brown( almost gray). I know without a pic its hard to tell but does this necessarily mean they have something that I should add to my collection:P. I will get a pic tomorrow....

Can't say anything for certain without pictures...might be axanthic, although it's highly unlikely that someone would just give one up or sell one for a normal price. There is a tremendous amount of variability just within the "normal" range for ball pythons in both colors and patterns. But if YOU really LIKE that particular snake, there's nothing wrong with going for it...and maybe someday you can prove it out to be something genetic. (Only way to ever know for sure in these cases is to prove it out by breeding)

    Good luck with it!

I may drive back tonight for the pic, these were definitely someones collection, I asked that. The thing is though, to pet stores around here a ball python is a ball python. I told them I had a pastel Ball Python and they asked me what is that??? Sometimes ignorance is bliss.....

If you can and plan to buy them, don't say anything and possibly grab a steal. If you can't or won't, then you should probably let them know a bit about morphs. But only if you can tell they take good care of them. I always support mom and pop pet stores, but only if they clearly care about the animal's welfare.
