One big stuck shed?

My snake is in his first shed with me. He went through the in-blue portion and his eyes have cleared up, and he's been looking pretty dull. He shed off the skin from the front part of his head (eyes and nose) and then the rest of him still has the old skin on. It's been 3-4 days now, and I'm not sure if there's something wrong or he's just not trying.

I mist the aquarium daily so that it stays in between 60% and 70%, and the temps seem to be good. Is it possible that it's just all acting as one massive stuck shed? Should I give him a hand, or just let him work himself out?

You should try giving him a bath for about 20-25 minuets.

If it was me, I'd bust out a tupperware of slightly warmish water and make 'im soak a while.

I've had a lot of luck with my evil little Milk Snake, Bowline...she's horrible and impossible to handle (proof that you can love an animal even if the animal actively dislikes you! :D) so I toss in a clean hand towel or washcloth. Her creeping all over it while soaking in the slightly warmish water means that all the stuck shed peels off without me having to spend time working at it with my fingers. Because being handled much is NOT how miss Bowline rolls. ;)
