My new baby got his first meal,
    Hi everybody,

I'm very happy that my new ball python just ate his first meal..

I bought him yesterday and everything looks great,,

this is his picture after striking the live mouse..

Next time I will try to feed him frozen,, will be much easier and less danger to the snake, and cheaper,, any advices to convince him with the frozen one?

Also the women I bought the snake from told me not to handle the snake for a week, so he can get use to the new place, is it right?

    Thanks a lot guys,
I'm really happy to be part of this great forums,,

Yes, you shouldn't handle them for about a week to let them settle in.

There are a couple things you can do to try to get them to take frozen, but some never will. You can thaw them out, then heat their head with a blow dryer and use tongs to twitch it around.

Is that his set up in the picture, or a feeding container?

Thanks I will try next time,,

this is his set up,, only the first meal will be in his cage and later I will feed him in a separate cage,,

also for him to get more confidence in the new place,,

    Thanks,

I would stick with live if you had fed live and had success with it.

I'd also like to see some full shots of that enclosure, it appears to be missing a few things.
