Hey Guys

SO I'm a total noob, to the point I've never even held a snake before BUT I want one so bad it's driving me crazy!

It's been about 6 yrs or so that I decided I wanted a corn snake, joined the boards, researched, bought the books, etc etc then my Mom (I'm an adult by the way and live on my own) literally freaked out and told me she would NEVER visit me again, total guilt trip about how I was showing my true feelings towards her and all that crap. I was crushed but decided I couldn't do it...

Got into lizards and finally after a few yrs brought home my Bearded Dragon, Moose, who is still my man and I love him with all my heart, he is my boy!

Then I got a spazzed out little Leopard Gecko who is ADHD or I think she secretly snorts her calcium when I'm not looking that makes her so crazy....her name is Monkey....definately suits her.

Anyways I LOVE my lizards but I'm still dreaming of corn snakes.....or so I thought. All of a sudden I discover how freakin cool ball pythons are and I am head over heals in love. I always looked at them as a bigger snake and never really thought they would be decent for a beginner...WOW was I ever wrong.

I've been lurking on here now for 2 days and I am really leaning towards a ball now instead of a corn......it's a huge decision so don't worry I won't be making any impulse buys...I'm here to learn as much as I can.

So Hi everyone...oh yah my name is Brandy in case you were wondering and I have 3 boys who want a snake as much as I do (they are 9, 8 and 5).

And my Mom still thinks they're evil but she is willing to compromise, she will still visit me if my friend "babysits" the snake when she's here. She lives over 3 hrs away from me and come sup for a few hrs twice a year...so I will hide my snake in the basement and tell her it's at my friends..she'll never know unless my kids rat on my.

Like the time my oldest son said "Hey Nanny, we're gonna get a new pet but we can't tell you what it is" yah THANKS, Dakin, LOL he goes "What, Mommy....I didn't tell her"

No problem about the rant, ha ha. Ball pythons are my favorite too, and even the normals never look the same, it really makes them pop for me. I hope you get a great snake, no matter which one you choose. Any how, welcome to ball-pythons.net I hope you enjoy it here!

We have a corn and 2 ball pythons here, along with a Dumerils boa. I have to say the ball pythons are my favorite!

Welcome!! Ball Pythons are my favorite snake. I did a lot of research on them before I started, and I love them. I'm a fat and slow creature lover :) And, when they reach about juvy stage they are just that.

Good Luck on getting your first bp!!! They are addicting. :)

I started off with a corn snake and ended up adding another one and then shortly after that found out how absolutely awesome Balls are. Plus I have two girls (10 & 6) that love "our" snakes. As far as the mom / mother-in-law visiting, she'll come around. If not......well that's why I got snakes!!!!
