This is my one female Dumbo that i held back as she is awesome. She wont let me hold her much as she just jumps off me back into rack. In time i guess we shall see.

This is her first breeding as shes 4 months old and hope she does good. If not shell be put in my one pet females tub who is retired.

Thanks im hoping shell be a good breeder and ease up on the holding. All my females at first are skittish but then they calm down and jump out of tub on me.

She will be here till the end

I find females to be a bit more standoffish at first too, but after weaning they just maul me when I handle them to tame them for pets

not trying ot make her a full pet but hand-able when needed. She will be a pet once she retired from breeding. My males will NOT let me pick them up they will sequel but love me to rub their head and ears. Just no pick ups at all.

Well I've taken in very nice rats from others that turn completely protective of their babies on their first litter and would bite me for even trying to touch them.

All 15 of my adult females were handled as pets from pinky size and now that they are breeders will not bite me for any reason unless I hurt them.
My males are the same, when I open a tub they meander up and crawl into my palm hoping I'll hold them.

Genetics plays a huge role in how they react when they get babies, I swore the last weanling female I raised up was going to be a sweetheart, but as soon as she dropped babies she became protective.
This girl came from a friend, not my stock, she is now history, a snake must eat biters, it's the law here, lol.
