What are some 'simple' pairs?

I'm starting a collection of 'basic' ball pythons and was wondering about some starter, easier pairs.

For right now all I have is a male spider. I plan on getting a pair of pastels as well. What others should I get, what gender and how would YOU pair them?

if your getting pastels, than bee's are what ur after from them.

but its personal preference. what ever floats your boat you know?
pinstripes are gorgeous and not to much.
mojaves allways make great combos.

Here are some combo's I know of and plan on doing.

Pastel X Spider = Bumble Bee
Pastel X Pastel = Super Pastel
Super Pastel X Bumble Bee = Killer Bee
Pinstripe X Spider = Spinner
Pastel X Pinstripe = Lemon Blast?

What can you do with a mojave? I know two mojave's can get a blue eyed lucy...but what else?

Albinos are not a bad price and then you can get spider albinos which are really nice!

Yes it would be a Lemon Blast, although I would think that name would be unique to lemon line pastels :rolleyes:

Anyway, I got a Lesser, Fire and Pastel, I hope to breed my lesser to the Fire and Pastel this next season and hopefully make some Lesser Pastels and Lesser Fires.

When you finally decide what you want to breed your spider to, then figure out what else you want to breed the male offspring to and get females of whichever morphs you want to combine those to.

Remember, every female can produce around 8 eggs, which means you will have to house and sell all those snakes, and with how many snakes you will produce you could end up having babies (a lot) that you cant get rid of and dont particularly want to keep, but you will still have to take care of.

Before you ever breed be ready to take care of 8 babies per female, and be ready to take care of them for life. It's a major responsibility and not a decision to be taken lightly, with the number of people breeding BPs and the number of eggs being produced every year it will become harder to find homes for these snakes.

This was very helpful, thank you. And yes, I know they will have lots of babies. I will be opening a pet shop specializing in reptiles which is why I am learning about breeding now...then I can just supply my own store. I will have a rack system, which my uncle is building now. Thanks for all the links.
