Loss of scale ...due to shed?
    Hi there,

My ball python just shed today and i was giving her a warm soak as i cleaned and disinfected out her cage coz she made a huge mess of it after her shed. on inspection of her, i realized one small red dot on her body and realized one of the scales got torn off or rubbed off. She has not been alone with any mouse before and i only feed frozen so im positive its not a rodent bite, but am thinking it might be due to the shed, and she accidentally tugged one of her scales off. its a little pink and i am wondering what to do about it besides disinfecting it.

Should i pay special attention to it or is this a common occurence. i havent noticed this on my other snakes, but then again they arent as large as her so i might have missed it. thanks.

Sometimes when snakes shed they will lose a scale or two. I don't think it is anything to serious. It happens sometimes.

Alright thanks, just wanted to be vigilant bout it. I disinfected it with those little antiseptic swabs. and rinsed it off.
