    It happened back in February.
    200 evacuated, none dead.

    Landslides are fairly commonplace in Italy.
    9 were killed when a landslide derailed a train in April.

    I imagine that residents are aware it can happen. The only 'warning' for a landslide is heavy rain. Once a slide starts, they'll use the sirens--you can hear them in the video.

    Italy is also threatened by a tsunami from the Marsili volcano. Of course, there is also Mt Vesuvius, responsible for burying Pompei. Then there's Mt Etna, and Stromboli, and at least 15 others.
    So, Italy tends to be a little wriggly. Not entirely sure I'd want to live there. ^_^

    its kinda like living in tornado alley in the us, certian things are more prone due to the climate and geography.

    That second video is insane.. theres a house just chilling on a giant cliff. I dont think it used to be a cliff either :D
