Beautiful ratties! I love the photos you take... It takes me forever to get just a couple decent shots of mine, they never stop moving! The standing up on their back legs shots are my faves :D

Thanks!
I have a spot like a white box sort of that contains them fairly well, and after taking many thousands of rat pics I'm getting it down, but it is still very difficult to get great rattie pics, more so even than snakes, lol.
The standing up thing has helped boost sales, gimmicky but cute

He's a Ruby eye Himilayan Rex coat and like his dad one of the lickingest, gentlest rats you'd ever hold.
I first popped out Himilayans in a Blue to Blue breeding.
I was as always expecting a litter of all blue ratties and when they fuzzed up I was like WTH?
6 Himilayans and 4 blue babies, hmmm, what is going on here?
I call the breeder who had the genetics to begin with and she's like sure they carry black eye'd himilayan in their genes?
So now I make red, Ruby and black eyed Himilayans and am loving them, such a beautiful coat they have!
Rattie genetics are fun to figure out when you have rats with kewl traits.

OMG.....CUTE!!!! That masked dumbo of yours just stabs me in the heart with cuteness!!!
Is the blue hooded a half rex? It's fur looks really thin. The blue skin is gorgeous!!! My sis had a blue hooded hairless named blueberry :P I just love the blues without hair!
I've got another question as well. If you breed a hairless to a standard and you breed those hairlessxstandard babies back to a hairless is there a chance to get hairless babies or no?

Rex/Velveteen coats are a co-dominate trait.
She is a double Velveteen(think super pastel) patchwork.
They tend to lose their hair at 3 to 5 weeks of age and then regrow it all back or some or none,
she regrew very little and looks like she's going to stay that way.
True hairless rats look like lil pigs and true hairless is also a recessive trait unlike patchworks.
Patchworks have no health issues like true hairless either.
True hairless is a labratory created condition and patchworks were not,
they are the product of finding the trait and continuing it till it's all over now.
I believe the first rex's/velveteen's were found in pet stores by hobbyist, similar to the first dumbos.

Yes, for true hairless it works that way, if you can get the mom to lactate, which you won't,
so you then need another mom to feed the babies.
Rex to Rex by odds will give you 25% doubles 50% rex 25% standard coats.
Double rex blue girl bred to my satin coat boy gives all Velveteen coats, no standard and no doubles
. Like breed a super pastel to a normal, all pastels :)
That masked girl is gone now sadly, she was a super sweet female rat, I never bred her she was a pet only and an awesome one at that.
