    Snake Brains
So relating an escape story. In fact just now I was reading a post and replied to a post of this persons snake loose and his mom is afraid of it.So my oldest daughter goes into the room to turn on his light and notices his light is dislodged so I go in to look and he is gone. So we start looking and find him in a closet behind some crates. So my question? do snake have the ability to remember where they last escaped and will they go back to it like a dog does.

When I had a tank, yes, he would try that area of the screen first every time.

Where they escaped, how they escaped, the route to their favorite hiding spot, and whether or not they got caught in that spot last time.

When my aunt had her boa, it would often get out of its tank (they were the type that used books and other stuff to try to keep the tank lid on). "Skeeter" would get out and my aunt would find him in a sock drawer almost everytime.

I've heard that they do infact have a good sized memory. I mean, they have to, to know your scent and things such as that. So I'd assume they know which area of a tank to try and get out if they've gotten out on that side before.

I've heard different species are VERY smart such as Retics.

Before I upgraded her tub, Weezy popped open the same latch two nights in a row. So I'd say yes.

My previous ball, Spike, used to escape from his cage and we had no idea how he was doing it and I almost always found him in my sock drawer!!
