    Large Rats needed
Hey everyone, I need to buy some frozen large rats. Anyone know of a breeder in the lower Michigan area? I'm in Kalamazoo.

If I can't find someone within my driving distance then I'm probably going to purchase from rodentpro.com. Anyone have any feedback, positive or negative?

    Thanks!

Personally ive dealt with them once and that was it. Got way too many rodents covered in cut off tails, limbs and feces. Not the cleanest and will never buy from them again.

i now only buy from themousefactory.com Everything is made to your order and vacuum sealed neat and CLEAN. You pay more but you get quality.

Breeding rats might save you some headache here and there to have some on hand when needed.

Thanks for your input. Thats why I was asking. I always get great input from bp users and not having internet means my time online researching is limited. I'll look into themousefactory.com. I only have one (RTB) so breeding is out but she'll be on large rats for a while so I'm gonna buy some bulk.

Having one RTB, breeding rats will till save you money. Buy 2 males 2 females and keep the males together and females together. Rotate them together to mate then separate when their pregnant and raise the babies to size you need. When you need more rotate again. This stops you from getting over ran and a steady stock in freezer.

The only problem is that you need to raise them up to get them to the size you need. Chances are that you are going to have to spend at least 12 weeks pumping food into them to get them up to Large size.

This means that you have one litter on day one.
The second litter comes on day 28.
The third litter comes on day 56.
The fourth litter comes on day 84.

So you will have four litters cooking/growing at one time before you can put the first one in the freezer.

Rich is correct. I used to order my frozen feeders from Rodent Pro and they were in terrible condition. The limbs were broken off and they were covered in urine and feces.

    Get ahold of Marc Bailey

Tell him you got his info from Trevor down in Missouri with the Blood Pythons. Hes up in that area and shipping is super cheap.

You WONT be disappointed, trust me.

I too have used Rodent Pro in the past, lets just say I wont recommend them to anyone.
