yes roaches are better then crickets- they have more protein in them as well as being meatier than crickets. They don't smell, and if kept under proper conditions, will thrive.

I get my roaches from Ian at the Roach Ranch- http://theroachranch.com/
he ships out as soon as you order and they get to you wiked fast. If you have any questions, he is quick to respond and just basically a great guy to deal with. the roaches i got from him all arrived alive and plump, and my beardies absolutely love them!

I have also heard that the Roach Guy - http://theroachguy.com/ also has great roaches. I have never ordered from him, but Im sure someone here has and iwll be able to tell you more.

I use dubia roaches aswell in my opinion they are the best simply because; they dont escape, easy to breed, better nutrition, and I generally don't have problem feeders like I did with my leos or beardie. I have ordered from the roach guy he does an excellent job of getting them to you Im about to order from him a third time because Im running low and its a quick and easy no problems

For beardies I use both dubia and discoids. I am always expanding my colony on them just to keep up. I rarely if ever use crickets except for baby viper geckos(pinheads). The companies mentioned above are both great companies to place your order through. Just remember to give them time to breed for you before you start really using them. I gave mine a good 2 months to breed and build up before I started using them. Once they really got on a schedule and I started making new colonies I rarely if ever have to order new ones to keep up the feedings.
